Blackwell, Betty B. Betty B. Blackwell - Pueblo Chieftain - October 04, 2004 - Betty B. Blackwell passed away Oct. 2, 2004, in Pueblo. Betty was born July 9, 1923, in Gates, N.C., to Albert and Ada Jernigan. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Loice V. Blackwell. Her survivors include her children, Bill (Trish) Blackwell of Pueblo, Judy (Sonny) Cook of Washington; brother, Malley Jernigan; sisters, Etta Jones and Gurney Wilkins; six grandchildren, Bill (Bonnie) Blackwell Jr., Phil Blackwell, Steve Blackwell, Betty Jo (Rob) Whitting, John (Andrea) Cook and James (Missy) Cook; three great-grandchildren, Taylor Whitting, Kayla and Keri Blackwell; as well as several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Tuesday. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2004, in the Davis Memorial Chapel with Pastor David Carlock officiating. Interment will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donation in memory of Betty be made to the Pueblo Animal Shelter through the mortuary.
